The British Minister of State for Armed Forces of Britain, Hon. JAMES Heappey, has paid a working visit to Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Abuja, Nigeria.
According to the statement by the ECOWAS Commission, the two officials discussed issues of security in the West African Region, especial the situations in Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso.
It added President Touray stressed the need for all interventions in the Region to be under the ECOWAS regional framework, which is “The Action Plan” to build coherent coordinated efforts.
Responding, Hon. Heappey assured the ECOWAS Commission’s President of UK’s readiness to work with ECOWAS in ensuring a peaceful Region.
