Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, on Tuesday in Cairo, met with the Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed El-Manfi.
During the meeting, the Egyptian head of state expressed his country’s full support for everything that would achieve the supreme interest of Libya, and preserve its unity and sovereignty.
For his part, the Libyan official praised the vital role of Egypt and its tireless efforts to restore security and stability in Libya and unify the institutions of the Libyan state, especially the military institution represented by the Libyan National Army, in complementarity with the efforts of the “5 + 5” Committee on the military aspect of the Libyan crisis.
He also went through the current internal political situation in Libya. The two sides agreed to intensify bilateral consultation and coordination in the coming period to follow up on the evolution of the political process and the procedures for managing the transitional phase, which will help restore stability to Libya and strengthen its institutions.
