The doctors specialising in fields including otolaryngology, gynaecology, neurology and emergency will be treating patients and conducting surgeries in nine local towns for the next two weeks, according to a statement issued by Violet Mu-hsuan Chen, the Third Secretary at the Embassy of Taiwan in eSwatini.
“The doctors will work together to provide free clinical services for the local inhabitants around the kingdom,” the statement reads.
The government of Taiwan also has a permanent department at the Mbabane Government Hospital where the Taiwan Medical University (TMU) unit is stationed, with about 10 specialists who have been in the country for about 10 years now.
