Ethiopia is set to host the next World Economic Forum on Africa scheduled for 2020 after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed signed an agreement to that effect in the capital Addis Ababa on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Ahmed and President of the World Economic Forum Børge Brende met on the issue shortly before both men signed the agreement that sets Ethiopia as the next host of the flagship in Addis Ababa in September 2020 and is expected to attract over one thousand people.
The agreement came during follow-up talks to their meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
In January 2019, it was announced that Ethiopia would host the 2020 World Economic Forum on Africa following a meeting between Prime Minister Ahmed and Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of WEF.
