Thousands of people are currently fleeing from Ethiopia’s Tigray region to neighboring Amhara region to escape atrocities being committed ostensibly by belligerents to the conflict.
The government is currently delivering daily humanitarian aid to the IDPs, Kobo town Peace and Security Office Head, Abebe Derso told local media.
Currently there are over 46,000 Internally Displaced People (IDP) sheltered in the camps, Abebe said.
The IDPs told local media Tuesday that the TPLF terrorist Group is committing harrowing crimes against people of Tigray.
The junta is conducting conscription and using humanitarian supplies it snatched from the needy to cajole civilians for enlistment.
The refugees who fled their homes in Tigray are now sheltered in three temporary camps in Kobo town, officials say.
The IDPs have confessed that the people in the Tigray region are undergoing countless sufferings due to shortage of food and abuses by the TPLF forces.
According to the refugees, they had been denied to leave their areas and sometimes the regional forces could take severe measures including killings against refugees leaving the region.
The refugees demanded the federal government to enter and exterminate the TPLF forces and free the people of Tigray.
