APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) BRICS IN4U on Saturday announced that Ethiopia’s Country Profile and Information is added to the BRICS Information and Cooperation Platform.
Ethiopia was invited to apply for membership in August 2023 and became a member state as of January 1, 2024.
“The BRICS Information and Cooperation Platform is pleased to announce that Ethiopia’s country profile and information have been added to the BRICS joint website, marking a significant milestone in the country’s integration into the BRICS family,” IN4U said in a press release seen by APA.
The platform was established after BRICS member countries signed a memorandum of understanding in 2015. It provides information about BRICS member countries including their history, economy, culture – among other things.
Igor Petrenko, Founder and CEO of the BRICS Information and Cooperation Platform, said “We are delighted to welcome Ethiopia to the BRICS family and to provide a platform for Ethiopia to share its rich history, culture, and economic achievements with the global community.”
This development comes as a warm welcome to Ethiopia, which recently joined the BRICS grouping of emerging economies, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
The addition of Ethiopia’s country profile and information to the BRICS joint website (https://in4u.org) underscores the country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and collaboration with other BRICS member countries.
