Two new initiatives will be launched to strengthen the partnership between Morocco and the European Union, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced Thursday during a visit to Rabat.
They include a high-level dialogue on security, which will be held in Rabat soon, as well as a strengthened cooperation in multilateral forums between Morocco and the European Union, Borrell said on the side-lines of a press briefing held on Thursday with the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita.
Josep Borrell affirmed the EU willingness to “widen” and “deepen” the partnership with Morocco, which “is based on values,” stressing the objective of “building a more ambitious vision.”
For his part, Nasser Bourita said that Morocco is working to strengthen the partnership with the European Union in various fields. “The European Union is a leading strategic partner for Morocco,” he said, adding that the proximity with the European Union offers great opportunities for cooperation.
