The Vice President of the European People’s Party (EPP) in the European Parliament, Andrey Kovatchev said Monday in Rabat that Morocco is a “very important” partner of the European Union (EU).

The Bulgarian MEP, who is also rapporteur for Morocco in the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Committees of the European Parliament, said he was waiting for the formation of the new government in Morocco so that the two parties can continue to strengthen the “good” relations linking them in all areas, political, economic, security and trade.
“Morocco has many friends in the European Parliament,” he added, stressing that his visit to Rabat intends, among other things, to explore ways to further deepen Moroccan-European ties and identify challenges.
Recently, Mr. Kovachev had welcomed the good conduct of the triple vote of September 8 in Morocco, highlighting, in a statement, the “transparency of the elections of September 8 and the quality of organization of this process by the Moroccan authorities, despite the context of the pandemic.
