The NNF said through its Twitter handle on Monday that Chief Ogunjobi died following a brief illness.
“We are sad to announce the shock demise of former Nigeria Int’l, Ex-NFF Gen. Sec., former NFF Executive Committee member, and current Chairman, Osun State FA, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi after a brief illness,” the NFF said in its Twitter handle.
It condoled with the family and relatives of the former NFF scribe as well as the lovers of football across the country on the death of Ogunjobi.
Until his death, Chief Ogunjobi, 65, was the Chairman of the Osun State Football Association in south-western Nigeria.
He was also a former player of the national team, as well as a former Executive Committee member of the NFF.
The personal assistant of Chief Ogunjobi, Tunde Shamsudeen told journalists on Monday that Ogunjobi passed on in the early hours of Monday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
He said that Ogunjobi was admitted at the hospital three days ago, but did not disclose the nature of the ailment that took him to the hospital.
