The Ethiopian airlines said that from around 3am, most incoming flights could not land at Bole International Airport because of heavy foggy weather condition and were diverted to other airports.
Addis Ababa has been observing foggy weather in recent days but the situation has gotten extreme today, affecting both arriving and departing flights from Bole Airport.

“This has also affected both the domestic and international morning departing flights.”
The Airline is taking “all the necessary actions to mitigate the disruption on the travel plans of our passengers,” the statement reads.
“As always, the safety of our passengers is our priority,” it says. “We sincerely apologize to passengers “for the inconveniences they have encountered.”
