The file of famous pop singer Joshua Tuyishime Polly, better known by his stage name Jay Polly has been submitted by the prosecution to a competent court in Kigali, pending for trial, a judicial source confirmed to APA Friday in Kigali.
Jay Polly is likely to answer all charges levelled against him including drug trafficking after an important quantity gram of marijuana was found by the Police earlier last month at his home located at Kibagabaga, a suburb of Kigali city.
Upon his arrest, Jay Polly denied the accusations but later cooperated in a statement, explaining that he beat his wife because he was drunk, before apologising to her for what happened.
During the past hearing, Jay Polly told the court that he wanted to be released as ‘a changed man’ so he can take care of his family, especially since he was planning to take his son to school next month.
Jay Polly started his music career in a group called Tuff Gang – which he is still a member to.
In August 2018, Jay Polly was sentenced to five months behind bars for assaulting his wife.
