APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – Rwanda has beaten 64-35 Cote d’Ivoire in the opening of 2023 women’s African Basketball Championship currently being played in Kigali, Rwanda.
Throughout the game, Rwanda demonstrated their dominance, outscoring Cote d’Ivoire with 34 points in the paint compared to theiopponent’s 20.
The 28th edition the tournament will run between July 28 to August 5 at the state of the art BK Arena in the Rwandan capital city.
The winner of Groups A,B,C, and D will advance directly to the Quarter-Finals, while the teams that finish in second and third place will meet on August 1 in the Qualification for the Quarter-Finals.
The Final Phase of the 2023 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket will run from August 2 with the winner of the tournament declared on August 5.
