APA-Ndjamena (Chad) Chad is seeking Côte d’Ivoire’s expertise in the development of its football and the establishment of a strong football federation.
Against this backdrop, Chad’s Minister of Youth and Sport, Bravo Ouahidou, held talks in Abidjan on February 5th, 2024 with the Prime Minister, Minister of Sport and the Living Environment, Robert Beugré Mambé.
“We carry a message from Prime Minister Succes Masra to his Ivorian counterpart Robert Mambe, requesting Côte d’Ivoire’s expertise in setting up our soccer federation. This is an area in which Chad is experiencing some difficulties,” Bravo Ouahidou said.
Chad intends to draw on Côte d’Ivoire’s experience to set up a strong naitonal football governing body, with the help of FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Adje Silas Metch, Minister Delegate in charge of Sports and the Living Environment, took part in the audience. Côte d’Ivoire is currently hosting the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON 2023) for the second time.
It was also host of the competition in 1984.
