APA-Windhoek (Namibia) Former Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) president Joseph Kabila offered his condolences to the family of late Namibian president Hage Geingob in Windhoek on Wednesday.
Kabila expressed his condolences to Geingob’s widow Monica Geingos and children at the Geingob residence before signing the book of condolences.
“H.E. Joseph Kabila, former President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, pays tribute to Madame Monica Geingos, the wife of the late President H.E. Dr. Hage Geingob,” the Namibian Presidency posted on X.
The former DRC leader commended Geingob for his “commitment to the development of his country, the well-being of his people, regional integration within SADC (Southern African Development Community), his pan-Africanist ideal, and in South-South cooperation as well as his mediations in armed conflicts and political crises around the world”.
Kabila’s visit came days after Botswana’s President Mokgweetsi Masisi visited the Geingob residence to pay condolences to the former president’s family.
Geingob, 82, died on Sunday at a local hospital where he was being treated for cancer.
