At least four people including a Spanish tourist were killed in a shooting incident in southern Ethiopia earlier this week, APA can report on Wednesday.
The other three are said to be Ethiopian nationals.
The killings occurred in the northern part of the Mago National Park when gunmen killed a driver who was reportedly from the Arie ethnic group and who worked for the park.
The driver’s killing triggered a skirmish between Arie and Mursi ethnic militants and the victims lost their lives during the ensuing exchange of fire.
The Spanish touristidentified as Tony Espadas, was a photographer.
Arie zone peace and security head Matado Berbi has confirmed that the tourist was killed during the skirmish at the park where ten foreign tourists who appeared unharmed were on a tour at the time.
They have since been ferried to Jinka town.
Sources told APA that the killing of the tourist did not seem intentional.
Officials of the Spanish embassy in Addis Ababa are yet to confirm the killing of Mr Espadas.
The late Spaniard was on Tuesday flown to Addis Addis Ababa from where his remains will be airlifted to Spain.
