APA-Tripoli (Libya) Hannibal Gaddafi, one of the ramaining sons of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has been hospitalised in Lebanon where he is imprisoned, APA can report from Tripoli on Monday.
Sources have told the Africna Press Agency that Hannibal has been on hunger strike in recent weeks and this follows incerceration in a Lebanese jail since 2015.
His ill health is reported to be critical after doctors carrying tests on him discovered that his blood sugar had plummeted ‘to an alarming level’, prompting his hospitalisation.
Hannibal Gaddafi’s hunger strike which began in June is in protest over continuing to detain him without trial.
Since Muammar Gaddafi was executed in an armed uprising in Libya in 2011, 47-year-old Hannibal had been on the run.
He had surfaced in Syria where he was arrested and subsequently jailed in Lebanon.
Hannibal and his waife and family had briefly taken refuge in Algeria and Oman.
