Cameroon is hosting the continent’s biggest football competition with 24 games from January 9 to February 6, 2022 after one year delay due to the Coronavirus global pandemic that has infected over 4 million people and claimed 100,00 lives in Africa.
Gambia is in Group D with Gabon, Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo. The small West Africa country will join Gabon as the two qualifiers in their group.
Soon after the referee blew the whistle to mark the end of the game between Gambia and Angola, jubilant fans waving the country’s red-blue-and-green flag poured into the streets of the capital Banjul Thursday to celebrate the historic victory.
