The Gambia and the United States have restated an ‘unbreakable’ faith in their shared ideals of democracy.
In a phone conversation on Wednesday, US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and Gambian president Adama Barrow spoke about ‘our shared commitment to democratic principles and protecting human rights’ said a statement from Washington.
These rights, they affirmed include the rights of women and girls, seen as the most vulnerable in society.
Blinken shared his appreciation for The Gambia as a leading voice on the protection of human rights globally.
