Friday’s verdict by the Supreme Court means that Foday Gassama can be sworn in as a nominated lawmaker, pending the outcome of a substantive case to determine the constitutionality or otherwise of revoking Ms. Kumba’s nomination by President Adama Barrow.
Ms Jaiteh was sacked and replaced by Gassama by President Barrow last month, dividing public opinion and starting a spirited debate in the national assembly.
After dimissing Ms/ Jaiteh’s injunction, the supreme court is now set to move to the substantive case about her sacking by Barrow.
Meanwhile, Gassama will likely take the oath on March 18 weeks.
