APA – N’Djamena (Chad) – Chadian diplomat Mariam Ali Moussa has 48 hours to leave Germany from where she was expelled in a tit-for-tat response to Ndjamena.
Ms Moussa’s expulsion from Germany was a tit-for-tat response to Chad’s decision to expel the German ambassador from Ndjamena.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock confirmed the Chadian ambassador on Twitter, saying she should leave Germany by Thursday.
“In response to the unfounded expulsion of our ambassador to Chad, we have summoned the Chadian ambassador in Berlin, Mariam Ali Moussa, and asked her to leave Germany within 48 hours. We regret that it has come to this,” she tweeted.
On 7 April, N’Djamena asked the German ambassador, Jean Christian Gordon Kriche, to leave his post within 48 hours after the Chadian authorities accused him of “rude behaviour and disregard for protocol.
The head of German diplomacy rejected this allegation.
“Ambassador Kricke carried out his duties in N’Djamena in an exemplary manner and stood up for human rights and the rapid transition to a civilian government in Chad,” she replied.
