Hasaacas Ladies on Sunday put up a spirited performance to beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies 3-2 to emerge the 2019 National Women’s League Champions.
They fought back from two goals down to win against the three-time Women’s Champions at the El Wak Sports Stadium to the admiration of fans and supporters, who watched the epic finals of the GFA Normalisation Committee’s Special Cup Competition held for the premier women’s clubs in the country.
After weeks of action, the titanic duel was set up between the two, with the former champions taking the lead in the 19th minute and added another in the 28th minute.
However, the Western Region based team, Hasaacas Ladies, fought back, fetching two equalising goals before half time.
After the interval, the game appeared to be heading for the extra time before the skipper of the Hasaacas, Perpetual Agyekum, converted a penalty neatly in the 80th minute to snatch victory for her side.
