First to break the ice was the coach of the team, Jim Cobblah, who blamed the failure of his team to qualify to the next stage of the competition on poor preparations towards the tournament.
However, the coach’s assertion has been received with a pinch of salt from some football fans as he promised to guide the boys to a world cup bid, especially when he won the opening game 2-0 against Burkina Faso.
Mr. Kojo Owuba, a public relations practitioner, said the coach had no excuse to fail Ghanaians and that he was bereft of ideas after starting on a bright note.
“How can you win your first match 2-0 and lose all the remaining games?
“That for me, shows he did not understand the game. If you were tired or did not prepare well, you might have better withdrawn from the tournament. He should apologise to us and move on,” he said.
However, some football fans have on Monday called for the “head of the coach”, saying that he cannot perform.
