Ghana is moving to regulate and secure its 1,098km land border with neighbouring Togo, APA learnt on Saturday.
The Ghana Boundary Commission said it is embarking on an assessment its land border with the French-speaking neighbour to the east with a view to preventing future disputes between the two countries.
There has been a series of disputes between Accra and Lome over the exact demarcations of their shared border.
The commission has enlisted the cooperation of officials across the border to help mark the boundaries using boundary pillars as a guide.
The border with Togo covers 1,098km kilometres running from the north to the Atlantic Ocean in the south.
The two countries have also launched a joint exercise to determine their maritime border.
