The arrest of a sub-Chief of the Osudoku Traditional Area in the Shai-Osudoku District in the Greater Accra Region by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for his alleged involvement in the activities of the secessionist group in parts of the Volta Region is one of the leading stories in the Ghanaian press on Monday.
The Graphic reports that a sub-Chief of the Osudoku Traditional Area in the Shai-Osudoku District in the Greater Accra Region has been picked up by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for his alleged involvement in the activities of the secessionist group in parts of the Volta Region.
According to the report, the Head of the Dorsi Clan/Division, Nene Tawiah Agblom II, was reportedly picked up from his home over the weekend.
The Akuse Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Winfred Asare Nyarko, confirmed the arrest to the Daily Graphic but would not give any further details.
The traditional council, in reaction to the incident, has dissociated itself from Nene Agblom’s activities, stressing that whatever he had done was not done on behalf of the council.
The newspaper says that the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the special voting for the 2020 election will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
The EC noted in a statement that the special voting is reserved for voters who as a result of their duties on Election day (December 7) will be unable to vote at the polling stations where they registered on the day of the election.
The special voting will cover only security personnel, media personnel and election officials.
According to the report, they are to submit their voter ID card details to the Commission, through the Director I.T. Projects at the Headquarters of the Commission on or before Thursday, October 15, 2020.
The results of this special vote will, however, not be declared until after the general election.
The Times reports that a contingent of coaches, players, technical and Management Committee members of the Black Stars, have arrived in Antalya, Turkey for this month’s International friendly games against Mali and Qatar.
The advance team, led by Black Stars Management Committee Chairman, George Amoako departed Accra on Saturday.

The newspaper says that Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, has presented GH¢100,000 to the flood victims in the West Mamprusi Municipal and other communities in the North East Region.
The amount was his personal assistance to help mitigate the plight of the victims.
Dr Bawumia, who also presented large quantities of relief items to the victims at the weekend in Walewale, said it was just a prelude of what was yet to be brought to them.
The items included bags of maize, rice, gallons of cooking oil, cartons of milk, mattresses and mosquito repellent.
The Vice-President, who also toured the affected communities to assess the extent of damage by the floods, said the government would work assiduously to put make life normal for them in the shortest possible time.
He indicated that the government would provide them with the necessary building materials to help rebuild their houses.
