The Black Stars of Ghana have qualified for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted in 2022 by Cameroon in spite of securing a draw in their match against Bafana Bafana of South Africa yesterday.
The Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their Group C qualifying match played on Thursday at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Black Star’s Mohammed Kudus broke the deadlock soon after the resumption of play after a goalless first half with the opener for his side in the 49th minute of the game.
But the lead by the Ghanaian side was short lived as Percy Tau of Bafana Bafana of South Africa got the equalizer in the 52nd minute of the match.
With this result, the Back Stars lead Group C with 10 points with an outstanding match against the national team of Sao Tome.
South Africa and Sudan are now to contest for the second ticket from Group C, when the two sides meet in their next encounter.
