Two rival dancehall artistes in Ghana who clashed on Sunday morning during the Vodafone Music Awards (VGMA) have been charged by the police, APA learnt on Tuesday.
The two, Livingstone Etse Satekla, also known as Stonebwoy and Charles Nii Armah Mensah, alias Shatta Wale, have been provisionally charged with offensive conduct, act tending to disturb public peace and lawful display of firearm in a public place.
They are expected to appear before a court on Tuesday.
The Ghanaian Times reports that a source in the Accra Police Command, said the two were still in custody and have given their statements to the police.
It was reported that supporters of the two musicians, who clashed at the VGMA, when Stonebwoy was awarded the Dancehall Artist of the year Award, trooped to the various police stations where they were detained.
The police had released a statement on Sunday, saying the two were arrested and placed under lawful custody.
