The press in Ghana on Tuesday focuses on President Nana Akufo-Addo’s call on African leaders to strive for peace on the continent.
The Ghanaian Times reported that the Ghanaian President has urged political leaders on the continent to focus their attention on peace and stability to ensure a hopeful future for the youth.
“Let’s strive for peace…on the continent,” he said.
“Peace is one of the most critical ingredients that is needed in all our efforts to make Africa and indeed, the rest of the world successful. African leaders have to prioritise in establishing a peaceful atmosphere on the continent,” he said.
Speaking at the opening of the Global Peace Inter-generational Dialogue in Accra on Monday, President Akufo-Addo said that Africa could accelerate its transition from poverty to prosperity and create a hopeful future for its youth with considerable peace on the continent.
The dialogue is the first of the series of dialogues planned for 100 cities across the world, aimed at creating a platform for the youth to interact with leaders on development issues.
The Business and Financial Times said the Bank of Ghana (BoG) has announced that the reforms it carried out in the banking sector have started yielding positive results.
The bank explained that the current macroeconomic gains coupled with the recent regulatory changes introduced to the financial sector provided opportunities for investors to explore.
