APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – A high-ranking military delegation from Burkina Faso is in Rwanda on a three-day working visit to meet with officials from Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF), a military source revealed Friday.
Upon arrival in Kigali, the Burkinabè delegation visited the Campaign Against Genocide Museum located in Kigali city and which tells the story of the then Rwanda Patriotic Army’s military campaign to end the Genocide Against the Tutsi.
The museum also details how the fighters then rebel group and current ruling Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) in 1994 conducted rescue missions to save the victims of Genocide across the country and defeated the Genocidal forces.
It is expected that the visiting military delegation will also visit Rwanda military Headquarters and meet with the Minister of Defence, Juvenal Marizamunda and the Rwanda Chief of Defence Staff, Lt Gen MK Mubarakh to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation with Rwanda Defence Force and Burkina Faso.
The Burkina Faso Armed Forces delegation will also visit and receive briefing on selected Defence facilities and welfare schemes including Zigama CSS, Military Medical Insurance and Armed Forces Shop.
The delegation will also visit Rwanda Military Academy Gako as one of the Defence schools located in Eastern Rwanda.
