The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group, Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman, renewed the commitment of his institution to finance the National Development Plan (NDP, 2021-2025).
Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman, who is on a 72-hour visit to Cote d’Ivoire, began his stay on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 with a working session with the Minister of Planning and Development, Kaba Niale.
Mrs. Kaba that the level of commitment of the bank alongside Cote d’Ivoire, with a portfolio of projects that has grown from $250 million (2002-2010), to $1.6 billion in 2020, to reach $2.1 billion to date.
The IDB Group is one of the financial partners supporting Cote d’Ivoire in its development effortsd. It has already committed, in June 2022, during the Consultative Group, organized by the Ivorian government, to fund the National Development Program (NDP 2021-2025).
“We have 56 operations financed, which are underway; this is a positive indicator of our cooperation which is fruitful. Cote d’Ivoire is a member of all the group’s bodies with which it has a large portfolio. We are present to expand this cooperation,” Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser told a joint press conference with Ms. Niale Kaba.
The Minister of Planning and Development, Ms. Kaba Niale, in her capacity as Governor of the IDB for Cote d’Ivoire, welcomed the presence of Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser who is visiting Cote d’Ivoire for the first time.
“The IDB is a group of other institutions that work with the private sector. During these 72 hours, all the members of the government, the high authorities and I will tell him all the intentions we have to the attention of the group and present the investment opportunities for Cote d’Ivoire,” she concluded.
