Ijeoma Otabor, who is popularly known as Phyna, has won the Season 7 of Nigeria’s popular TV show, BBNaija, which lasted for 10 weeks.
Phyna beat fellow finalist Bryann to clinch the N100m prize money made up of a cash prize of N50 million and N50 million worth of prizes from the sponsors.
The report by The Punch newspaper said on Monday that 30 fans of the show also won N1m each in the ‘Fave Lock-In’ promo exclusive to DStv and GOtv customers.
The report added that the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, had moments before the commencement of the live eviction, paid tributes to all the housemates.
Ebuka, who showed up in a suit with all the faces of the Level-up season housemates on it, said, “A tribute to the #BBNaija Level Up housemates as we wind down a most eventful season. It’s finale time.”
The 24 housemates were placed in two houses for this season. The first 12 housemates were placed in the Level Two house, while the second 12 who were introduced on Sunday were placed in the Level One house.
Speaking after the announcement, Phyna who was unable to contain her joy, told the show host, Ebuka Uchendu, “I don’t even know what’s going through my head right now… like who dey?”
Some Nigerian fans on Sunday jubilated and congratulated Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, for emerging as the winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 7 reality TV show, dubbed Level Up.
Congratulating the reality TV star, a fan on Twitter, @CuteLikeACutie, wrote, “Even the Bible said truly they shall gather. But they all fell at Phyna’s feet cos this victory will shut them all up. Street ti take over. Congratulations Phyna.”
@Starlexx1 wrote, “All I can say is it’s a well-deserved win. Congratulations Phyna and Phynation. She gave us pure entertainment/Zeeworld/Action movie/Drama/romance/comedy etc.”
Another fan, @iwilldrag, said, “You guys don’t understand how iconic Phyna’s win is. She has officially levelled the standard for both genders being befitting to win on this show. No more high standards for women!!! Now, both men and women can be very imperfect and still win!”
On her part, @drkSparkk, hailed Phyna for becoming the second female contestant to win the reality TV show.
