APA-Meknes (Morocco) The 15th edition of Morocco International Agricultural Show (SIAM) kicked off on Tuesday in Meknes, Morocco.
This edition was inaugurated by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, and the Minister Delegate for the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa.
This major event, which runs from May 2 to 7 under the theme “Generation Green, for Sustainable Food Sovereignty,” marks its return after three years of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
SIAM 2023, of which the United Kingdom is the country of honour, includes nearly 1,365 exhibitors from 60 countries, with a significant international presence, especially at the level of agriculture ministers.
The exhibition will be marked by the holding of a large number of workshops and conferences on topical issues such as food sovereignty and climate change.
Spread over an area of 18 hectares, 11 of which are covered, SIAM, which is one of the largest events in Africa dedicated to agriculture and agricultural stakeholders, is expected to host 900,000 visitors.
The fair is organized around 10 different poles (regions, institutions and sponsors, international, local products, machinery, products, agricultural supplies, livestock, feed, nature and life) and will host nearly 40 conferences on various topics related to the theme of the edition and with the agricultural news.
The choice of the United Kingdom reflects the excellence of the ancestral relations that link the two countries and offers participants a great opportunity to discover and explore the richness and diversity of British agriculture.
