APA-Abuja (Nigeria) A senior official from Iran has claimed his country is serious about deepening already strong ties with countries in Africa.
Iran’s Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohsen Mansouri said that the position of the new government in Tehran led by President Ebrahim Raisi is to expand relations with Africa to greater depth.
Mansouri made the remarks in a meeting with Nigeria’s outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari on the sidelines of the fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5), taking place in Doha, Qatar.
Iran and Nigeria can have useful and constructive cooperation, he said.
Meanwhile, Buhari expressed hope that his country and the rest of Africa will develop stronger relations with Iran.
