Audits carried out on the instructions of the Ivorian head of state have revealed ” a dysfunction, management and governance problems” in some public companies.
Two executives have been dismissed.
“The head of state has decided to remove the director general of the Cotton-Cashew Council and the director general of the Ivorian Radio and Television (RTI) from their respective posts,” government spokesman Amadou Coulibaly announced Wednesday after a cabinet meeting.
Coulibaly, the Minister of Communication, then announced that “the boards of directors of the two companies will meet to appoint the temporary staff of these two directors general”.
At the end of the meeting, the head of state delivered a speech on good governance and the management of public enterprises. He welcomed the “progress” that has been made in these companies throughout the world.
He also stressed the responsibility of each minister in the management of the companies under their purview.
President Ouattara instructed his vice-president to “pay more attention to the management of public enterprises”.
