At the invitation of his counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa, the Ivorian head of state will be in South Africa from July 20 to 23 to discuss cooperation and regional and international affairs.
The presidential pair will preside over a ceremony to sign bilateral agreements and the South Africa-Cote d’Ivoire Business Forum and discuss cooperation and regional and international news.
In addition, Mr Ouattara is expected to visit Robben Island prison on Saturday where anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison.
Ouattara’s state visit, which takes place after the South African president’s visit to Abidjan, from December 1 to 3, 2021, is part of strengthening relations between Abidjan and Pretoria.
In 2020, the volume of trade between Cote d’Ivoire and South Africa was estimated at 371 billion CFA francs.
