The Ghanaian media on Tuesday reported the jailing of the suspected kidnapper and jail breaker, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, by the District Court in Secondi Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.
The Daily Graphic, Ghanaian Times, The Chronicle and the Daily Guide reported the case with the Daily Graphic stating that a 26- year-old Nigerian, Samuel Udoetuk Wills accused of kidnapping the three missing girls in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis, has been jailed for 36 months for escaping from lawful custody and causing damage to public property.
According to the newspaper, the court handed the sentence to close the case of escaping from custody levelled against the Nigerian.
Before sentencing Udoetuk Wills, the presiding Judge, Mr. Michael Ampedu, was quoted as saying that the judgment would pave the way for the convict to face the substantive case of kidnapping.
The newspaper also splashed the portrait of Udoetuk Wills on its front page.
