Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Thursday with Professor Jacques Marescaux, Founder and President of the Research Institute against Digestive Cancer (IRCAD-France) and delegation for a discussion on training doctors in the latest technology-enabled minimally invasive surgical techniques.
“Jacques Marescaux had the honor of meeting His Excellency President Paul Kagame. They discussed the opening of IRCAD Africa in Kigali scheduled for this year, between May and July. The construction of this Center is in Masaka Sector.The IRCAD Africa Center will train doctors in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques”, said IRCAD via twitter.

On March 25, Professor Jacques Marescaux visited the IRCAD Africa construction site. The IRCAD Africa center will open its doors in 2023 and will receive surgeons from different parts of Africa.
