Kenya’s President William Ruto has condemned last Saturday’s series of drone attacks by Iran on Israel, saying it only serves to aggravate an already delicate situation in the Middle East.
The attacks caused minimal damage to Israeli facilities after over 300 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were unleashed by Iran in retaliation for the April 1st Israeli bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria which killed a general and other senior military officers.
Israel and her allies US. UK and Jordan neutralised the drones.
”The attack represents a real and present threat to international peace and security, contravenes the Charter of the United Nations and should be condemned by all peace loving countries” said the Kenyan leader in a statement on Sunday.
He urged Israel to show utmost restraint taking into account the urgent need for all parties to the skirmish to avoid a further escalation of the crisis.
