Kosmos Energy Ghana Limited has established a multi-purpose centre in Accra to groom youth entrepreneurs to support employment creation in the country.
The centre, called “Kosmos Innovation Centre (KIC) Incubation Hub, is located in the plush airport residential area.
The Kosmos Energy is using the centre as part of its social investment programme to support young people to invest in technology and innovations that could lead to employment creation and reduction in poverty.
A statement published by the Daily Graphic on Thursday said the Chief Executive Officer of Kosmos, Mr. Any Ignlis, revealed that the programme was initiated in 2016 and has so far helped some 19 businesses with start-up capital, with 14 of them joining the Kosmos Incubator.
He added that his outfit has provided $300,000 as seed fund for the incubators, creating 200 new jobs through small businesses Kosmos has worked with.
Ghana’s deputy minister of energy, Dr. Amin Adam, advised the beneficiaries of the programme to be focused and help achieve the aim for which the technology hub was established.
