The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Liberia has donated a consignment of office equipment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to boost the ministry’s capacity in providing quality service to the people of Liberia.
The donation by the Chinese Government comes just few days after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the People’s Republic of China on cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Liberia is among the latest countries that have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation within the framework of the BRI, with over 150 countries and international organizations being part of the Initiative.
The BRI was established by China in 2013 with the aim of enhancing all-round win-win collaboration and connectivity through Policy Connectivity, Infrastructure Connectivity, Trade Connectivity,
Financial Connectivity, and People-to-people Connectivity, exploring new driving forces for world economic growth, and building a new platform for world economic cooperation.
In order to demonstrate further commitment to the bilateral relationship subsisting between Liberia and China, Chinese Ambassador Fu Jijun, on behalf of the PRC, donated the equipment which includes
laptop and desktop computers and printers, to enhance the work environment at the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Receiving the items on behalf of the government at the weekend, the Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration, Abraham K. Korvah, thanked the Government and People of the PRC for the kind gesture.
