The Liberia National football team, Lone Star, departed the country Friday for Sierra Leone for the second leg of the preliminary round of the 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The Lone spanked Leone Star 3-1 on Wednesday at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, thereby securing an advantage in the tournament.
Two spot kick goals from Terrence Tisdell and Mohammed Sangara and a late goal by Captain Sam Johnson put the Lone Star in a better position in the tournament.
Kwame Quee scored Sierra Leone’s lone goal. Wednesday’s game in Monrovia is Leone Star’s first international game after a one-year ban by world football governing body FIFA.
