Making the disclosure over the weekend in Bopolu City, Gbarpolu County, Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francis Kateh, said the decision was made after President George Manneh Weah visited the UAE.
According to Deputy Minister Kateh, the Crown Prince of the UAE promised to help address some of Liberia’s challenges following a briefing by President Weah during his recent visit to the UAE.
Minister Kateh said upon the return of the Liberian leader, the Crown Prince of the UAE sent a delegation to Liberia to conduct an assessment to verify the problems that were short-listed by President Weah.
He said based on that the high power delegation from the UAE decided to visit Gbarpolu County for an assessment that could lead to the construction of the hospital in the county. Dr. Kateh made the disclosure when he led a high-power delegation from Monrovia to Gbarpolu County on an assessment tour to know the challenges facing the county health system.
Minister Kateh assured citizens of Gbarpolu that the project might start before the end of 2019 after the UAE high-power delegation returns home.
