Four peacekeepers have on Friday been killed in the camp of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) in Aguelhok (North).
The bloodshed continues in Mali. The headquarters of the UN mission in Aguelhok has been targeted by heavily armed men. But “the peacekeepers have valiantly repelled (this) attack” as “the assailants have suffered heavy losses,” according to a MINUSMA.
The UN mission strongly condemned “this despicable attack” in the circle of Tessalit and which constitutes “yet another attempt against the peace process and the implementation of the (Algiers) Agreement.”
The UN Mission, after assuring that nothing “will weaken its determination to continue to carry out its mandate,” reiterated its continued commitment to protect the population and to work for peace.
