Accompanied by the Minister for the Refoundation of the State, Bakary Traoré, the Malian Prime Minister held discussions with the President of the National Transition Council (CNT), General Malick Diaw, on the implementation of the framework letter issued by the President of the Transition.
Malian Prime Minister, General Abdoulaye Maïga, concluded his tour of republican institutions with a visit to the National Transition Council (CNT) on Monday, December 23, 2024. The meeting was attended by the Minister for the Refoundation of the State and Relations with Institutions, Bakary Traoré.
At the center of the discussions was the framework letter from the President of the Transition. Alongside the President of the CNT, General Malick Diaw, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of the document as a roadmap for government action. He particularly emphasised the need for close collaboration between state institutions to tackle current challenges and address the population’s needs.
The President of the CNT warmly welcomed the visit, viewing it as a significant gesture of respect. He reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to supporting national efforts, highlighting the importance of fostering genuine “institutional complicity” to ensure Mali’s stability and development.
This visit to the CNT follows a series of institutional meetings held on Friday, December 20, 2024.
At the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister stressed the need for enhanced institutional coordination and sought the court’s support in adopting the framework letter.
During his visit to the Constitutional Court, he discussed strengthening synergies for peace and social cohesion. The court’s President, Amadou Ousmane Touré, assured the institution’s unwavering support for government initiatives.
At the High Council of Local Authorities, the Prime Minister called for collective engagement in the peace and social cohesion process, while emphasising the importance of adhering to the framework letter. He commended the council’s inclusive approach.
The tour also extended to the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council (CESEC), where the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the support of the nation’s active forces and encouraged its members to adopt the framework letter as a guiding principle for the transition.
