Morocco will host the 51st edition of the National Festival of Popular Arts in Marrakech from July 1 to 5, the Grand Atlas Association announced on Monday.
Under the theme “Eternal Songs and Rhythms”, the festival, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture celebrates the popular arts for over 50 years across all regions of Morocco.
It is meant to be a real cultural action to preserve the Moroccan heritage, said a statement from the organizers who insist on the originality and diversity of the country’s arts heritage.
This year’s edition will immerse spectators in an authentic artistic fusion and a real “in-depth renovation of a heritage with multiple artistic facets and social and spiritual dimensions,” the statement added.
This post pandemic edition “is more than a promotion of the ochre city and the national cultural heritage, it is a real challenge of time by the authenticity of ancestral arts that remain even more alive over the years,” it concluded.
