Mauritania has appointed a new security advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office amid a context of strengthening national security measures.
General Abdellahi Ebou Medienne was appointed as advisor in charge of security and counterterrorism within the Prime Minister’s Office, according to a decree issued Thursday by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani.
President El-Ghazouani also appointed Mohamed Cheikh Abdallah as Director General of the Deposit and Development Fund. Abdallah, former Secretary General of the Fund, replaces Muhammadu Yusuf Adekana, who has retired.
