APA-Nairobi (Kenya) The fire though described as small temporarily disrupted work at Kenya’s biggest airport.
A terminal at Kenya’s main Jomo Kenyatta Airport has been shut down after the outbreak of a fire attributed to an electrical trip.
Travellers and workers who had fled the terminal in terror have been evacuated.
The Kenya Aviation Authority has released a statement on Monday saying its Terminal 1E was affected by the ‘minor fire’ which it said has been put out.
No injuries or damage was reported but electricity supply has been cut off as the electrical fault is addressed.
The KAA said all flights arriving at the JKIA have been redirected to Terminal 1A.
