Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, star of Paris Saint-Germain, has won the Lion d’Or 2024, a prestigious award presented by the Al-Mountakhab newspaper with votes from 41 media outlets, including journalists and sports experts.
Hakimi became the second Moroccan to win the award after goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, rewarding his outstanding performances for both the Moroccan national team and Paris Saint-Germain.
He won the award with 162 points, ahead of Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman of Atalanta, who finished second with 96 points.
Moroccan striker Soufiane Rahimi, who plays for Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates, finished third with 90 points.
