APA-Rabat (Morocco) This year, the Mohammed VI Foundation’s scientific communication session will focus, among other things, on Achaarite dogma, the preservation of the necessities and aims of religion, and jurisprudential rites.
Representatives of sections of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema from across the continent, meeting in Rabat on Tuesday for the Foundation’s 4th scientific communication session, hailed the efforts of King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, to consecrate an Islam of peace and moderation.
“Thanks to the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulemas, Africa is experiencing something new and extraordinary with the emergence of an Islam of peace, moderation and the golden mean, promoted by His Majesty the King,” MAP quoted Sheikh Moustapha Sonta, Caliph General of the Tijanya community in Côte d’Ivoire as saying.
Also chair of the Ivorian section of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulemas, Sheikh Moustapha Sonta M highlighted the role played by the kingdom in the fight against all erroneous interpretations of
Islam, adding that Africa should follow and draw inspiration from the Moroccan religious model, which has become “more united” thanks to federative initiatives.
For his part, Shaban Abdul Majeed, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulemas section in Zambia, stressed the importance of this session, which brings together all the sister African countries.
He emphasised that this is a vital opportunity for participants to share experiences and points of view for a peaceful and prosperous continent.
Following in his footsteps, Muhammad Al-Amine Touray, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation’s African Ulema section in The Gambia, argued the 2024 edition of this scientific communication of the Mohammed VI Foundation to reflect the efforts of the Moroccan king, Amir Al Mouminine, in favour of peace, tolerance and solidarity between brotherly African countries.
Touray cited in particular the organisation each year of competitions for the memorisation, recitation and of the holy quran, with prizes of great value, noting that this gesture reflects the sovereign’s constant interest in the holy book, its preservation and its dissemination in Africa.
“The 4th scientific communication session of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulema is an extension of the kingdom’s various praiseworthy initiatives in favour of the African continent,”
concluded Mr. Touray, praising the solidarity actions by the Foundation in favour of the elderly, the needy and people with special needs, particularly during the month of Ramadan.
