Moroccan security services on Friday arrested ten people, including three with judicial precedents, suspected of being linked to a criminal network specializing in the preparation and manufacture of firearms, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement.
These simultaneous security operations carried out in the mountainous areas of the province of Taza required the mobilization of 153 law enforcement officers and 34 vehicles, the same source said.
These operations also allowed the seizure of 10 rifles, cartridges and other equipment involved in the manufacturing process of firearms, it added.
The suspects were taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, with a view to identifying possible accomplices and ramifications of this criminal activity.
