APA-Rabat (Morocco) The agreement is aimed at promoting collaboration between the two countries in the fight against customs lapses.
The Government Council, meeting on Thursday in Rabat, was informed of an agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters between Morocco and Gambia, signed on 25 January 2024 in Dakhla, as well as a draft law approving the said accord.
This information was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Resident Abroad, Nasser Bourita, according to statements by the Minister Delegate for Relations with
Parliament and Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing at the end of the Council.
According to MAP, the agreement aims to encourage cooperation between the two countries to combat customs offences by offering mutual assistance between their customs administrations, in accordance with the conditions laid down in the agreement.
The aim is to apply customs legislation and to prevent, detect and punish Customs offences.
